Our topic this week in science was
LIGHT AND SHADOWS.
We learned that we need light in order to see things and that dark is the
absence of light
We also
learned that shadows are formed when the light from a light source is blocked
by an opaque object. We found patterns in the way that the size of shadow changes.
To deepen our learning, we made puppets to form shadows.
We can give examples of how to protect our eyes and skin from bright sunlight, with reference to the amount of light that passes through a material. We did a comparative testing to find out which material would make the best lenses out of opaque, translucent and transparent. We decided that the best lens would be transparent with a tint.
Here are our
sun glasses.
