Safer Internet Day 2025: Year 5 Students Learn About Online Reputations

Tuesday 11th February marked Safer Internet Day 2025, so it's the perfect time to reflect on how we can create a safer, more responsible online world for everyone. At our school, Year 5 students have been diving deep into "Online Reputations", exploring the importance of how their actions online can shape their future.

In today’s digital age, where social media and online communication are a big part of daily life, it's vital that young people understand the impact of their online presence. What we post, share, and comment on can leave a lasting impression!

Why Online Reputation Matters

The key takeaway for Year 5 students is that everything they do online could potentially be seen by a much larger audience than they expect. This includes friends, family, and even strangers. By acting responsibly online, they are not only protecting themselves, but also contributing to a positive and respectful online environment.

Moving Forward

As we continue to educate our students about internet safety, Safer Internet Day 2025 has been a fantastic reminder of how important it is to equip young people with the tools to navigate the online world confidently and responsibly. Our hope is that Year 5 students will carry these lessons with them, ensuring they make smart, thoughtful choices in all their online interactions.

Remember: We can all make the internet a safer, friendlier place.

Happy Safer Internet Day!
