3P- Change in Britain, Stone Age to Iron Age

In History 3P have been learning about the Stone Age to Iron Age.

The Stone Age was in the prehistoric period where stone was widely used to make tools. Hunting and gathering food was the focus of everyone’s lives. Then, there was the Bronze Age which is when people made tools from bronze- an alloy (mixture) of metals. The Amesbury Archer and Salcombe Cannon Wreck were two main developments of the Bronze Age. Finally, we had the Iron Age. Iron ores are minerals and rocks from which iron can be extracted. Through the process  known as ‘smithing’ a 'bloom' is what is left behind. By the end of the Iron Age many people lived in hill forts. The forts were surrounded by walls and ditches.
