This term in Science, our Year 5 students have been embarking on an exciting journey through space as they learn all about the solar system!
From the blazing Sun to the icy edges of Neptune, pupils have been discovering fascinating facts about each planet and their unique characteristics. Using models, videos, and interactive activities, they’ve learned the order of the planets, their sizes, orbits, and how they rotate and revolve around the Sun.
One of the highlights of the topic was creating their own detailed posters of the solar system. This helped students to understand just how vast space really is—and how tiny our Earth is compared to some of the gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn!
Next up, the children will be visiting the Science Museum in London to explore the depths of space in even more detail! As you can imagine, we are all very excited! 🚀
