This half term in DT we have been looking
at the topic Fastenings.
Firstly, we looked the different types of fastenings you would see around you. The fastenings we looked at were: buttons, press studs, Velcro, buckle, zipper and toggle. We were looking advantages and disadvantages of the fastenings.
After we began to design our phone sleeves and looked at the design criteria. We planned out how we would make our phone sleeves. We designed and annotated the front and back of our phone sleeves. We also focused on our target audience for our product.
Then we started to create our final
product, by learning how to sew. We measured our material and cut it to
size. Then we began to sew the edging of the
material together with a needle and thread. After we cut and sewed on the connection and
our fastening.
