During the last day of half term, we completed a DT Day where we learnt about and worked on our new DT project torches.
To begin with we looked at
the features of a torch, inside and outside.
The main features inside a
torch are batteries, bulb and the reflector.
The main features
outside a torch are the case and switch.
Then we designed a torch
for a particular person based on their user profile. Here are some of our
designs.
After we discussed the
different types of electricity many products use, mains and battery. The
electricity torches use is battery power.
Then we started to create
our own torches. We made them out of a plastic bottle, tissue, cardboard and a
circuit.
The circuit we made is made from wires, a battery, a bulb and a switch made from cardboard split pins and a paper clip. Here are some of our torches.
