DT is WHEELY fun!

Last week in 4F, we made our very own cars!

First, we learnt all about mechanisms and aerodynamics... We needed to know this in order to make our cars fast.

First, we made the chassis using lolly sticks and glue.

Next, we had to measure and cut a wooden dowel using hack saws and chopping blocks - it was vital that we listened carefully to the instructions in order to be safe whilst doing this.

We then used the dowels as wheel axles and attached four wooden wheels, which were then glued onto the chassis.

We also attached a paperclip and used an elastic band to slingshot the car into motion - we know that an input leads to an output.

Finally, we worked with our partners to design and create a net which would act as the exterior of the car. We considered colours, graphics and aerodynamics. Then we got to attach the net to the chassis and test out our slingshot cars.

We are very proud of our creations!
